Bath, Lacock, Stonehenge (168 images)
So I finally got a day to explore around the UK a bit - today Pilar (a new friend via Mayi Dominguez) and I took a coach (read - bus) to Bath, Lacock and ending on a Sunset viewing of Stonehenge. Well worth the pounds, IMO. Here are some of the descriptions off the brochure.
Bath - A world heritage site, this small Georgian city with delightful crescents, terraces and architecture houses the only hot springs in the entire kingdom. Here were built the magnificent Roman Baths, where over one million litres of boiling water still burst free from the hot springs everyday.
Lacock - this little known, picturesque village dating back to the Saxon era, has many beautiful buildings which originally formed part of an extensive monastic complex which are now owned by The National Trust. This village has provided the setting for many movies and television dramas including Jane Austens Pride and Prejudice and more recently Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. We had lunch here at The George, a vintage English pub built in 1361.
Stonehenge - Built nearly 5,000 years ago, Stonehenge is one of the most popular and certainly the most mysterious prehistoric monument in the world.
