Towards the Northeastern shores of Panama on the Atlantic side is the Comarca de San Blas, an autonomous state with its own governing body (a Cacique on each island). The Kuna indians run the show and populate a large number of the 400 islands that compose the Archipielago. Its an amazing place without much modernization which allows for some rustic and fantastic scenerey and beach life.
